1. Introduction

soundHub for soundcloud ("the Channel," "we," or "us") is an independent Roku streaming channel operated by ByteNode Tech. soundHub for soundcloud acts as a third-party client application that allows users to access and stream audio content via the SoundCloud API. soundHub for soundcloud is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by SoundCloud.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you access soundHub for soundcloud through your Roku device. Because the Channel does not operate its own proprietary account system, you authenticate exclusively through your existing SoundCloud account. By installing and using the Channel, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Authentication via SoundCloud API

soundHub for soundcloud does not collect, access, or store your SoundCloud account password. When you log in, you are directed to SoundCloud's secure OAuth login portal. Upon successful authorization, SoundCloud grants soundHub for soundcloud an authentication token and may share the following account details:

• Your SoundCloud username or display name
• The email address associated with your SoundCloud profile
• Your unique SoundCloud user ID
• Your public profile information (e.g., avatar, follower count)

3. Information Collected by soundHub for soundcloud

Beyond what the SoundCloud API provides during authentication, we may automatically collect the following technical data to ensure stable channel performance:

3.1 Roku Platform & Device Data

• Roku Advertising Identifier (RAID): A unique, resettable identifier provided by the Roku platform.
• Device Specifications: Roku device model, serial number, firmware version, and Roku OS version.
• Network Data: IP address, general location (city/country level), and connection type (e.g., Wi-Fi, Ethernet).

3.2 Channel Usage Data & Analytics

• Streaming Metrics: Audio streams, stations, history, or tracks you play within the app.
• Search Context: Search terms entered within the Channel to fetch results from the SoundCloud API.
• Performance Diagnostics: Session timestamps, time spent listening, error logs, crash reports, and system performance diagnostics.
• Feature Interactions: In-app actions such as liking a track, skipping, or managing your play queue.
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Telemetry: Anonymized event tracking metadata, including app installation events, screen views, feature interactions, engagement time, and transaction event triggers (e.g., subscription initiation).

3.3 Transactional & Subscription Data

If you purchase a premium subscription within the Channel, the transaction is processed securely through the Roku Pay ecosystem. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or billing credentials. Roku provides us with an anonymized transaction token, subscription status (active, expired, canceled), and purchase history metadata necessary to provision your premium features.

3.4 Support Inquiries

If you contact us directly for technical support, we retain your email address, message content, and any hardware/diagnostic details you volunteer to help resolve your issue.

4. How We Use Information

We process the collected data strictly for the following functional purposes:

• Authentication & Session Management: To verify your API access via SoundCloud and keep you securely signed in across sessions on your Roku device.
• Audio Delivery: To accurately retrieve, index, and play audio content tied to your SoundCloud profile.
• Experience Optimization: To remember in-app preferences (such as recent searches or volume thresholds) locally on your Roku hardware.
• Diagnostics & Quality Assurance: To identify system bugs, monitor channel stability, prevent crashes, and optimize streaming performance.
• Communication: To respond directly to your customer support requests.

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosures

We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information. Data is only disclosed in the following limited circumstances:

• SoundCloud API: We transmit data back and forth with SoundCloud's infrastructure as required by their API to fetch your music, likes, and playlists. These interactions are governed by SoundCloud's Developer Terms.
• Roku Pay Ecosystem: Subscription purchases, billing, and payment processing are handled directly by Roku, Inc. Basic transaction states are shared back and forth to validate active premium access entitlements.
• Service Providers: We may partner with secure infrastructure providers for cloud hosting and error-logging diagnostics. These parties handle data under strict confidentiality constraints and are forbidden from using it for any other purpose.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by a court order, subpoena, law enforcement request, or applicable regulatory law.
• Business Transfer: If ByteNode Tech or soundHub for soundcloud undergoes a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred. You will be notified via the channel or your profile email before your data becomes subject to a different privacy framework.
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4): We use GA4 to gather aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics to evaluate performance and improve channel features. Google processes this data anonymously; it is not combined with personally identifiable information or used for cross-app behavioral tracking. 6. Roku's Independent Data Collection

soundHub for soundcloud is distributed through the official Roku Channel Store. The Roku platform independently collects device, network, and channel usage data across all apps installed on its ecosystem. Note: You can opt out of personalized tracking by adjusting your preferences in your Roku device settings under Settings > Privacy > Advertising.

7. Your Choices & Data Control

Because soundHub for soundcloud relies entirely on the SoundCloud API for profile management:

• Revoking Access: You can instantly disconnect the Channel from your SoundCloud account at any time by visiting your SoundCloud Application Connections page at https://soundcloud.com/settings/connections. Revoking this permission immediately blocks the Channel from accessing your profile or streaming account-tied content.
• Data Deletion Requests: To request the permanent deletion of any backend log files or support correspondence stored by the Channel, contact us at support@bytenodetech.com. We will process and confirm verifiable deletion requests within 30 days.
• Local Cache Removal: You can delete all locally cached preferences, search history, and session data at any time by uninstalling the soundHub for soundcloud channel from your Roku home screen.
• Analytics Opt-Out: You can opt out of behavioral telemetry and event collection by Google Analytics 4 at any time by enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Reset Advertising ID" within your native Roku device menu under Settings > Privacy > Advertising. When this setting is activated on your platform, our GA4 events respect your preference and halt tracking logs.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide channel functionality or comply with legal obligations. If you disconnect the Channel from your SoundCloud account or request account deletion, your personal records will be purged from our active databases within a reasonable administrative window. Anonymized, aggregated technical statistics (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely to help improve future channel updates.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard technical safeguards—including mandatory HTTPS/TLS encryption for all API communications between your Roku device, our servers, and SoundCloud—to secure your data. While we work diligently to safeguard your information, no digital storage medium or network transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure.

10. Children's Privacy

soundHub for soundcloud is not designed for or directed toward individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe your child has bypassed restrictions to connect an account to our channel, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to purge any associated backend logs.

11. International Data Transfers

soundHub for soundcloud is operated by ByteNode Tech. By using the Channel, you acknowledge that your technical and authentication data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in regions where our hosting infrastructure resides, including the United States, where data laws may differ from your home jurisdiction.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this policy to reflect changes in Roku Developer Policies, SoundCloud API guidelines, or legal updates. Material adjustments will be highlighted within the Channel UI or communicated to your SoundCloud-associated email address at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of soundHub for soundcloud after the update window constitutes explicit acceptance of the revised policy.
